RR Institution is an upcoming educational campus on the outskirts of Bengaluru, housing four academic disciplines: Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Allied Health Sciences.

At the heart of the campus is a generous double-height entrance atrium with an amphitheatre and stepped seating that connects the ground and first floors. More than a circulation space, it functions as a vibrant third place—an informal gathering area that encourages interaction, discussion, and student life within the compact urban campus.

The key design decision and unique selling point (USP) of this project is the panoramic view of the sea. All public spaces and the majority of guest rooms have been oriented to maximize this view.

The design prioritizes thermal comfort, natural ventilation, and daylighting, creating a healthy learning environment while reducing dependence on mechanical systems. A series of strategically placed voids and cut-outs visually and physically connect different departments and floors, fostering a sense of openness and collaboration throughout the institution.

Each level incorporates one or two landscaped courtyards that act as informal breakout spaces while strengthening the campus’ biophilic character. These courtyards facilitate cross ventilation, allowing cooler air to circulate through the building and enhancing thermal comfort.
